PUMPKIN OBSESSION this time of year seems like an American thing.  We'll add pumpkin to ANYTHING this month.  Which is why this move by Burger King is so MIND-BOGGLING.

--Next week, Burger King is rolling out a new, limited-edition PUMPKIN BURGER . . . but only in Japan.--The Pumpkin Burger features a hamburger patty with bacon, lettuce, a special sauce, and, of course, slices of pumpkin.  The special sauce is made from sesame seeds, peanuts, almonds, cashews, and hazelnuts.

-The pumpkin we're talking about here isn't exactly the same as the pumpkin we have in the U.S.  They're technically kabocha squash, which is known as the Japanese pumpkin.  But from the photos, it basically looks like pumpkin with a darker rind.

--The burger will sell for about $4 . . . or $5 if you order it, quote, "PUMPKIN BOMB" style.  That's just a badass way of saying "extra pumpkin."

--But there's no indication that Burger King has any plans to bring this to the U.S.
