NBC is denying that it told Savannah Guthrie to wear lower heels to avoid towering over Matt Lauer on the set of Today.

A source tells the New York Post that producers are concerned that the five-foot-10 Guthrie dwarfs Lauer on screen, so they've asked her to change her footwear and to lower her chair in the studio. But a rep says, “NBC doesn’t dictate the height of her heels or her chair. Savannah owns heels of all heights and likes to mix up her footwear, and she adjusts her seat as she sees fit.”
